TO THE HONOURABLE THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NSW

The Petition of certain citizens of NSW rejects any increase in coal based power generation capacity in NSW, but states that the proposed gas fired power station at Frogs Hollow or elsewhere in the Bega Valley will pollute local air, earth and water and increase global greenhouse emissions.

It will damage native grasslands and local flora and fauna.The proposal will use scarce water supplies and exclude renewable energy alternatives and efficient technology which deliver far greater social, economic and environmental benefits to the community.

Your petitioners request that the House take action to cancel the proposal and investigate renewable and energy saving alternatives.
